About the Karambit Folding Knife:
The Direct Action Response Tanto or DART is part of the Direct Action Response Knives or DARK series by Doug Marcaida. It is based on the WIRES principles.
W for WAVE:
The Patented Emerson Wave Shaped Opening Feature (Patent #5,878,500) allows for the quickest deployment.
I for IMPACT:
The DART's design can also be used as an impact self defense tool and comes with a none edged trainer (sold separately), what is deemed as a Impact Control Device (ICD)
R for RETENTION:
The ring feature allows for retention as found with most karambits.
E for EDC:
For the everyday carry knife. The compact size and grip with interchangeable ambidextrous clips makes it an ideal workmans blade.
S for STRAIGHT:
Blade theory. Karambits are mostly curved in nature. The straight blade allows for the same familiarity to use comfortably in both grips and has a less aggresive look for EDC carry in public. Doug Marcaida is an Edge Impact Weapons Specialist, he host "By The Edge" show with Funker Tactical. His Designs are based in his experties in the use of the blade which can be seen through his seminars, YouTube shows and his karambit dvd found in this site as well.
- Ergonomic Handle Design fits Forward and Reverse Grip perfectly
- Can be carried for Reverse or Forward grip deployment
- Total Ambidextrous opening

In the world we live in now, this is what you must have on your person all the time. This will save your life. Great quality for price. Worth twice more than the asking price.

Great knife once you have practiced with it, ALOT. Fastest deployment of any knife I have ever owned. And I have a few, to include auto's, neck, boot, etc.

I was so amazed when I received the knife, the razor sharp blade, the emerson wave function, working like a charm. I love this knife and it became my EDC.

Love it. Use it Harris position for single, strong hand shoot with weapon positioned to defend against attempt to take away gun.

This knife is exceptional. Razor sharp out of the box and extremely easy to use. It has very comfortable grips and the Emerson Wave makes for a great self defense knife as the blade is deployed upon drawing. My only complaint is that the finish scratched up from cutting through some things aluminum and the edge dulled but it's a knife, it's meant to be used. I definitely recommend it .

i have owned this blade virtually since its release date, and have put it through many trials. it is my EDC now, since it is more 'legal' to carry in my area due to the more utilitarian blade shape. Plain and simple, this knife just works. Edge retention is good, decently easy to resharpen when necessary (though from the factory it's incredibly sharp), and the blade length paired with the ergonomic handle make it more legal, as well as more user friendly. I will definitely be picking up another if this ever breaks.

The Dart is my most recent purchase from The Ultimate Knife. I own and carry the Karambit which is a great defense weapon. The Dart is just as great. It's first class in composition, sharpness, ease of deployment, and ease of carry. With a little practice the ability to open the blade with your sleeve cuff is easy. Get one!

I ordered this knife on May 14th and initially panicked when I read the terms and conditions that told me to wait until after 8 weeks to contact customer service if I didn't have my knife by then. I received my knife on May 20th! I was surprised at the small size when I opened it up and then I started using it in different grips and it is perfect. I wear it support side on duty (I don't have a weak side, nobody trains with that terminology for the past 10 years). I plan on buying another to carry as a backup on my weapon side along with the trainer. Balance, size and functionality is amazing. I train hundreds of LEO's every year and will be sharing the merits of this blade with them.

I just wrote a review before I saw the price. I bought this knife at full price ($180). It was a steal THEN, at 138.95 it's a damn GIFT.
