1) Use a Ruler or a Tape Measure
2) Make sure you DO NOT INCLUDE your Thumb and your Fingers in this measurement
3) ONLY measure the WIDTH of the four tops of your knuckles where your fingers attach to your hand (from your Index Pointer Finger Knuckle all the way across to your Pinky Knuckle)
4) If your hand measures 4 Inches or UNDER in width then the 599 FOX Karambit Black G10 Knife is going to be the BETTER FIT for your hand.
5) Again, If you hand is 4 Inches or UNDER in width, we STRONGLY suggest that you DO NOT order the 479 or 479TK Karambit Knives as they will NOT fit your hand properly, as they are meant for XXL Size Hands and any returns will cause a 15% restocking fee we don't want you to incur.

  1. World-class craftsmanship and fits better than any other folding karambit 5 Star Review

Posted by on 29th May 2016

I'm very pleased with this karambit. The action on the emerson opener is incredibly smooth, the finger contours are well placed for a normal human hand (other karambits on the market seem to be made for gorilla hands or something). Fits even better than any other Fox karambit. The trainer is also a huge plus for anyone who will be training with blades/karambit (and if you bought a karambit, you BETTER do some training ;-) ). The trainer is a perfect replica with smoothly rounded / dulled blade and nice, orange G10. That brings up another point, the G10 scales are great on this. They really grip back. Overall, this is a great package that did not disappoint for my needs.

  2. Good self defense EDC. 5 Star Review

This combo is awesome. The trainer is just as solid as the knife, and could be used as non deadly option also. The 599 and dart are my favorite self defense EDC.

  3. FX599 & FX599TK 5 Star Review

Posted by on 19th Mar 2016

Decided on FX599… suits the size of my asian hand and ease of carry. Its now my official EDC.
The FX599TK is for my kids to 'play' with. It always good to start early ;-)

  4. Best folding knife I own… absolutely love it!! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 22nd Jan 2016

The knife is amazing and the trainer is equally amazing. They are of superb quality steel and are very well made. I love the Emerson wave feature allowing for super fast deployment. It pays to own the trainer as well. It takes getting used to for deployment, but it is worth figuring out. I'm definitely going to use this as my EDC knife! Love the knives and trainers. Check out YouTube videos of Doug Marcaida. He's awesome to learn from and has great insight.

  5. Simply Awesome! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 13th Jan 2016

If you have a choice of one knife to carry, this is it. The Fox 599 can be used as an impact weapon or fully deployed blade. Blade deploys lightning quick using the patented Emerson Wave feature and it comes razor sharp from the Fox knives factory.

I chose the 599 over the 479 due to hand size and it is perfect. G10 handles are very aggressive but I prefer to carry in pocket vs. clipped so thats not a problem. However, for pocket carry I would recommend smoothing out the G10 scales a bit to save your pants pockets.

Last thing, get the trainer. You don't want to get "bit" by the blade practicing deployments or doing flow drills. The trainer also makes a very good impact weapon on it's own.

You will not find a better product of craftsmanship and quality anywhere, and ordering through theultimateknife.com was absolutely perfect .

I'll be back for the DART :)

  6. The Dart = A thing of beauty 5 Star Review

Posted by on 8th Jul 2015

Just received the Dart knife. Ordering and shipping was swift and easy. I am thrilled with the piece. I purchased the 599 Fox Karambit (with trainer) set a while back as well. These are among the best knives I've ever owned. Now, the Dart, with the Tanto blade and a fantastic EDC is hands down my favorite in my personal collection. For a practitioner always looking for the best of many applications, this piece is a culmination of what an EDC should be. Hats off to all who were involved in designing and producing this well-crafted piece. Highly recommended!!

  7. As advertised! 5 Star Review

    Highly recommend!

  8. great quality!! (sure NOT to compare with the replica's from china) 5 Star Review

Posted by on 25th Feb 2015

    just received mine.

before I had these, I had a few fake copies from china... after playing a lot with these for a few months, I noticed they had much play and where not stable anymore. the metal is much softer and not good quality.

and after buying the Dart knife & trainer, I learned about the FOX quality so...
I now also bought the 599 Karambit & trainer.

and as with the Dart Knife, the knife itself as with with the trainer are both high-end quality products.
there is no play on both products, and everything feels very solid and strong.
sure NOT to compare with the fake replica ones from china!!!
    what was I thinking!!
very glad to have these. :)

  9. Outstanding value 5 Star Review

Posted by on 28th Jan 2015

I have been training with a fixed karambit for a while but wanted something I can legally carry most places. I followed the suggested tweaks on the video plus polished the back of the clip, and it deploys very quickly. The blade is very nice and sharp though I did polish the edge a bit further just to satisfy my OCD. The trainer is equally high quality. Once I got used to handling it, I have used it for EDC daily. The less-than-2.5 inch folding blade is very helpful as it is legal almost anywhere I would go. Everything about the knife is ergonomically sound and well thought out. Overall both the knife and the trainer are a tremendous value.

  10. That's a slick knife 5 Star Review

I really like the way this Karambit deploys quickly and smoothly. Highly recommend the training knife for practice, but it is also a great impact weapon. We are using it in our Martial Art Studio.
