1) Use a Ruler or a Tape Measure

3) ONLY measure the WIDTH of the four tops of your knuckles where your fingers attach to your hand (from your Index Pointer Finger Knuckle all the way across to your Pinky Knuckle)
4) If your hand measures 4 Inches or UNDER in width then the 599 FOX Karambit Black G10 Knife is going to be the BETTER FIT for your hand.
5) Again, If you hand is 4 Inches or UNDER in width, we STRONGLY suggest that you DO NOT order the 479 or 479TK Karambit Knives as they will NOT fit your hand properly, as they are meant for XXL Size Hands and any returns will cause a 15% restocking fee we don't want you to incur.

I spent some time reviewing different Karambits online. After seeing so many reviews on the Fox FX-599, I was sold. This is honestly the fastest deploying knife for personal carry. The knife is high quality, smooth finger hole and within 30 minutes of practicing with the trainer knife. I was good to go with the blade.
Highly recommended to anyone who is looking for a Karambit.

The 599 is a well-crafted, snap to deploy knife. I bought two 599s and a trainer. The trainer is essential for learning without bleeding. If I'm carrying, the 599 is on opposite side. If not, the 599 is on my strong side.
Lad's customer service is superb. The knives are well worth the wait. Great stuff!

I ordered both the knife and trainer, and glad I did. The trainer gives you the opportunity to learn without cutting yourself. Very impressed with the quality.

This knife took me some time to get used to and understand but with Lad's excellent costumer service I'm much more then pleased with this product. The quality and finish is beyond my expectations, this thing is over the top for the price. Im proud to say I added this to the items I carry everyday. Trainer is fantastic tool for learning and I personally recommend getting the pair.
Thank you Lad for furthering my understanding and appreciation for the product. I will order from you again in a heart beat.

Straight out of the box the 599 FOX Karambit knife was extremely sharp and I noticed it had a very comfortable grip. I had read reviews complaining about the "aggressiveness" of the G-10 used for the handle, but realized that this was over dramatized. The grip is comfortable and the knife has a solid feel to it. I will say that I am glad I got the set with the 599-TK (BFO Trainer Knife). This allows me to practice transitions and techniques without the worry of cutting myself, or a training partner. I am very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this knife to anyone interested in having a karambit style knife.
P.S. Watch the video that Lad put under videos & tips on sanding the G-10 under the pocket clip. I have already done this and it definitely improves smoothness when deploying the knife out of the pocket.

I first and foremost need to say sorry to lad. At first I didnt like it ..thought it was to small.. toy-like compared to my other knives.. to small for my hands. But the more I mess with it.. it is put together very well.. it locks very nice.. the handles provide a nice feel.. it's just what I was looking for. It's funny I carry the trainer and the real on and off..

This knife is solid. The G10 scales offer a lot of grip but aren't uncomfortable. The Emerson Wave deploys the blade quickly upon drawing the knife from your pocket. If it wasn't for the fact that this knife offered the Emerson Wave, I would not have considered it. I want my knives to be quick so my requirements are either a fixed blade or an Emerson. I am glad I went with this combo kit because the sharpened blade is VERY intimidating. I am very hesitant to flip or twirl the knife and will wait until I get a lot more practice on the trainer. The blade is made to mimic a tigers claw, and that is exactly what I imagine when I see it. It is a very fearsome knife. My only complaint is that it doesn't quite fit my hand well. Let me explain though. When I draw the knife aggressively (which is every time, practice like you play) my tightly clenched fist doesn't quite match up to the finger groves. if I relax my grip, my fingers will move into the grooves. It's not a deal breaker in the least, and in all honesty, if I draw the blade for defensive purposes I won't even notice the slight discomfort. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and WOULD do it again.
It took about 6 weeks for mine to arrive in the mail. The cases that the knife and trainer come in are nice aluminum cases (think Altiods) and while they're unimportant, it's nicer than some cheap cardboard box like most knives. If nothing else, they show that Fox cares about their product.
Just to reiterate, I would buy again.

Also glad I bought the training knife; saves on wounds.

Let me start out by saying I am in love this knife. I am a law enforcement officer in FL, and I carry this knife on the opposite side of my firearm. If someone would ever attempt to grab my firearm all I would have to do is hold down my weapon and go for this knife. One of our agency defensive tactics instructors actually recommended this knife. I don't leave the house with out it. Having the emerson feature, I know its always going to deploy when I need it to. It is good to know that I don't have to fumble around with a knife to get it open, with the emerson feature all you have to do is find the ring and with one finger you can deploy it. The quality of the knife is superb, I would definetely purchase again if I needed to. The 599 Karambit is the way to go, it fits perfectly in my hands and I am 6 Ft, 200Lb.
