1) Use a Ruler or a Tape Measure

3) ONLY measure the WIDTH of the four tops of your knuckles where your fingers attach to your hand (from your Index Pointer Finger Knuckle all the way across to your Pinky Knuckle)
4) If your hand measures 4 Inches or UNDER in width then the 599 FOX Karambit Black G10 Knife is going to be the BETTER FIT for your hand.
5) Again, If you hand is 4 Inches or UNDER in width, we STRONGLY suggest that you DO NOT order the 479 or 479TK Karambit Knives as they will NOT fit your hand properly, as they are meant for XXL Size Hands and any returns will cause a 15% restocking fee we don't want you to incur.

Great knife for self defense with fastest deployment capability ever. No buttons, notches or flicks of the wrist necessary just pull it out of your pocket with use of the Emerson Waved system and it's ready to go. I love this knife!

599 & 599-TK FOX Karambit G10 Black & Orange Trainer Knife Set purchased.
Get the trainer.
Well worth the wait. The trainer has been at my side in my v-cut pant coin pocket. The coin pocket keeps the knife latch in line with the v-cut pocket. The lower cargo pant side pockets like in the video would allow for a more powerful cross slash. Wearing blue jeans, the rear pockets allow for an increased swing. The trainer will always be valuable when trying on new deployment sites.
I definitely recommend the trainer... I grazed the side of my belly just figuring out what works for me. I trained in slow deployment a dozen times and figured I had my motion down... went to high speed a second time... that's when my trainer grazed the side of my belly. The trainer is definately valuable if you ever decide to train dual wielding. I'd go double trainer...
For the average sized person with medium to large sized hands, the 599 series is perfect.

I must say, as a person who carries concealed and has owned many knives; I am beyond impressed with this knife. I will definitely recommend using the training knife and learning the deployment and movement of the knife before thinking you're some knife master. In my delight and excitement upon receiving my knife, I instantly placed it in my pocket and deployed the knife.
Needless to say I almost sliced my middle finger off when deploying it. The knife definitely has a direction, force, and speed in which is likes to be pulled in order to work. Once you have it all figured out, the symbiosis between this knife and the human body seem perfect for each other.
The knife deploys in utter fractions of a second and is sharp enough to tear through flesh and bone (poor Christmas pig just had to be tested on). As someone who carries concealed on a daily basis, there is (without a shadow of a doubt) that I carry this knife on me at all times. I've had people ask me why I carry both.
1) there are times when you just cannot get to the gun, and no matter if you're quick draw McGraw, this knife will be deployed much faster than any gun.
2) I believe in deescalating the situation and using the appropriate level of force depending on the violence about to be used against me. Not every situation needs a gun pulled because you "feel" threatened. Trust me, you deploy this knife, and the loud cracking sound it makes as it locks will make anyone think twice. End of story, buy this knife, why did you read all of this!? You will not be disappointed!

I've had this knife in my pocket for a couple weeks now and its awesome, I find myself playing with it all the time and the trainer is as awesome too, to learn and become more efficient with this. Simply put, if you like knives, don't think twice, just buy it!

This knife quickly became my favorite, replacing my Columbia Rivers Tactical as my everyday carry. The Training Karambit knife is extremely valuable, allowing me to practice with a partner and become proficient while practicing CQB drills. The Fox 599 Karambit is a very intimidating weapon when flipped to a ready position, it´s one of the fastest weapons for deployment in various situations... I am impressed.

I spent some time reviewing different Karambits online. After seeing so many reviews on the Fox FX-599, I was sold. This is honestly the fastest deploying knife for personal carry. The knife is high quality, smooth finger hole and within 30 minutes of practicing with the trainer knife. I was good to go with the blade.
Highly recommended to anyone who is looking for a Karambit.

The 599 is a well-crafted, snap to deploy knife. I bought two 599s and a trainer. The trainer is essential for learning without bleeding. If I'm carrying, the 599 is on opposite side. If not, the 599 is on my strong side.
Lad's customer service is superb. The knives are well worth the wait. Great stuff!

I ordered both the knife and trainer, and glad I did. The trainer gives you the opportunity to learn without cutting yourself. Very impressed with the quality.

This knife took me some time to get used to and understand but with Lad's excellent costumer service I'm much more then pleased with this product. The quality and finish is beyond my expectations, this thing is over the top for the price. Im proud to say I added this to the items I carry everyday. Trainer is fantastic tool for learning and I personally recommend getting the pair.
Thank you Lad for furthering my understanding and appreciation for the product. I will order from you again in a heart beat.

Straight out of the box the 599 FOX Karambit knife was extremely sharp and I noticed it had a very comfortable grip. I had read reviews complaining about the "aggressiveness" of the G-10 used for the handle, but realized that this was over dramatized. The grip is comfortable and the knife has a solid feel to it. I will say that I am glad I got the set with the 599-TK (BFO Trainer Knife). This allows me to practice transitions and techniques without the worry of cutting myself, or a training partner. I am very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this knife to anyone interested in having a karambit style knife.
P.S. Watch the video that Lad put under videos & tips on sanding the G-10 under the pocket clip. I have already done this and it definitely improves smoothness when deploying the knife out of the pocket.
